Those who sought refuge from the scorching summer sun starts to step outside of buildings and shadows, seizing this most comfortable time of the year to venture outdoors. This time,Lennon Tool Barventures into Alishan Mountains, the deep land of ancient trees, anda mountainoustown preserved in the expansive mistlocated in NortheasternTaiwan. Let’s all go for a walk together.

On this island lies a village of ancient trees. In the past, colossal iron dragons used to traverse winding paths to carry these ancient trees down from the mountains. Once these sacred trees reached the plains, theywerescattered far and wide, transforming intowooden cradles for countless human beingsto thrive in. Leavesfrom the branches burst forth as if it was driven by some unspoken agreementbetween spring itself.

Lennon Tool Bar was founded in 2014 at Tamsui, Taiwan. Initially, it started to promote arts and crafts of Indigo Dyeing, a business that flourished a century ago in Taiwan, and at the time, Taiwan exported a considerable amount of “doroai,” or the raw material of colorants used in Indigo Dyeing, to the Japanese Empire. Lennon Tool Bar draws inspiration from the traditional process and the popular colors used in Indigo Dyeing.
