Kanmido – Maco Washi Tape Holder & Refill

Maco is a pen-sized masking tape holder that offers a more compact way to carry masking tape. With the inclusion of a small “Winder” and Komaki cores in the main unit, you can effortlessly rewind most masking tapes you already own into small rolls. These small rolls can then be securely set in the case body, allowing you to store up to four different tape patterns in a pen case or pouch for convenient transport.

Equipped with a serrated tape cutter edge, the main unit enables you to neatly trim the tape without the need for scissors. While preserving the flexibility of being able to use masking tape at any desired length, Maco enhances the convenience and enjoyment of using your preferred tape patterns in various settings such as travel destinations, offices, and schools. If you get bored with the current washi tape refills you have, just swap them out or trade with a friend!

How to use:

1. Insert the Komaki core into the Winder securely, aligning the notch.
2. Attach the end of the tape horizontally to the core, ensuring it is firmly in place.
3. Grasp the small winder with a steady grip and rotate the taped side along the axis while keeping the winder stationary to rewind the tape smoothly.
4. Trim off the excess tape once the wound tape reaches a similar diameter as the small winder.
5. Slide off the rewound tape from the winder
6. To install it on the main unit, insert the end of the tape from the bottom, securing it in place. (The Mako main unit can accommodate up to four small rolls of tape for convenient storage and access.)

To use 16-20 mm tape with the Maco, first put the end of the tape into the slit of the Komaki core. Then, slide it on to the winder, making sure not to crumple the washi tape on the alignment notch. Rewind the tape like normal to transfer it to the Komaki core. After wrapping the tape, remove the core from the winder and slide it into the Maco holder. When using 16mm or larger tape, the holder has the capacity to accommodate three rolls at the same time.
