Hobonichi Techo Cover 2025 – Tokyo National Museum: Hasegawa Tohaku – Pine Forest – A6

The “Pine Forest”, painted approximately 420 years ago by Hasegawa Thaku, one of the most iconic painters of the Azuchi-Momoyama period. He created this atmospheric scene through his mastery of Chinese-style ink painting, breathing new life into the classic subject matter of a pine grove. The painting is now a National Treasure, housed in the Tokyo National Museum.
