Hobonichi Papers – Keiko Shibata: Ueda-san’s Summer of Hugs

This A6 notepad has 155 pages. The paper inside is blank except for a lightly printed illustration, and the pages are glued in instead of sewn, making them very easy to rip out for shopping lists or passing along messages.

On the cover is Ueda-sans summer of hugs, drawn by Keiko Shibata, a picture book artist and illustrator. This piece is from a series of works drawn for a solo exhibition held in 2017, depicting Ueda-san hugging a soft-serve ice cream. On the inside is also Ueda-san hugging soft-serve ice cream, printed in pale blue-green.

Because this notebook is the same size as the A6 Hobonichi Techo books, it fits perfectly into A6 size techo covers.
